Join us on our journey towards renewable energy excellence, where knowledge meets innovation.
This month we wrapped up a Company Consulting Project with ESCP Business School. Four students spent the term working with our team on a single question: how should the Synertics Energy Management Tool present its value to the market. Their final presentation closed the engagement, and it left us with a clearer view of our own product.

We work in renewable energy markets every day. That depth is an advantage when we build analytics, and it is a liability when we talk about them. The longer you live inside a product, the harder it becomes to hear how it sounds to someone encountering it for the first time. Assumptions calcify. Language that means something precise internally turns into jargon on the outside.
A consulting project with ESCP was a way to correct for that. The students were close enough to energy and finance to understand the substance, and far enough from Synertics to question how we frame it. That combination is difficult to manufacture internally.
Dragos Dobra, Sokate Doliveira, Valentina Granados and Zeynep Mataraci focused on the value proposition and positioning of SEMT. They examined who the tool is for, the problems it solves across the asset lifecycle, and how its position should read to renewable operators deciding where to spend their attention. The work was less about adding features and more about clarity: making sure the way we describe SEMT matches the value operators actually take from it.
We are keeping the specific recommendations internal for now, but the headline lesson is one we can share. Positioning is not a marketing afterthought. It is a discipline, and an external team willing to challenge your defaults is one of the more efficient ways to practise it.
For readers meeting Synertics through this post, the short version is this. SEMT helps renewable energy operators across Europe harness market intelligence, optimize asset origination and maximize revenue performance. It brings together the three things an operator needs to run an asset profitably: intelligence on market and price dynamics, support for origination and route to market decisions including PPAs, and independent monitoring of revenue and settlements. The platform covers PPA, balancing, ancillaries and Guarantees of Origin pricing across European markets, with more than 2.6 TWh under mandate across 14 countries.
