PPAs play a crucial role in financing renewable energy projects, advancing the UN Sustainable Development Goals, and driving the transition to a cleaner energy future. However, a lack of classification and standardisation has made structuring these contracts complex.

This study provides the first comprehensive classification of PPAs, drawing from a thorough literature review and insights from industry experts, including Synertics! The research introduces a morphological box, helping policymakers, academics and practitioners better analyse and design PPA structures.
